Producer: Anabella and Antonio Meneses
Process: Natural
Back in May, we had the privilege of hosting Anabella from Santa Felisa, Guatemala, for a coffee cupping and sharing session at the Bad Artist Coffee Co space. During the session, we learned about Santa Felisa’s approach to regenerative farming while maintaining the quality of their prized coffees.
Santa Felisa was established in 1904 in the Acatenango region and is currently run by siblings Anabella and Antonio Meneses. They are considered one of Guatemala’s pioneering specialty coffee producers, leading the origin’s pursuit of excellence.
We selected this coffee as our seasonal offering this month because it possesses a uniquely complex character of red and purple fruits such as cranberries, cherries, and grapes. As a black coffee, it showcases beautiful purple-toned flavours with a tea-like finish, and with milk, it reminds us of a lovely banoffee pie.
